Tocllaraju snowy mountain is located in the Chinchey massif of the Cordillera Blanca, its aesthetic pyramidal aspect is imposing within the Ishinca Gorge, this peak is a classic six thousand of mountaineering in the peruvian andes.
Tocllaraju is an excellent challenge for mountaineers seeking the experience of climbing their first six thousand in the Cordillera Blanca, however reaching its summit is not easy because you must overcome wide and deep crevasses, the dense fog that sometimes settles on the mountain, the strong wind that hits during the climb to the northwest ridge and the challenge of the final climb through the somital ice fungi.

We continue along the ridge by climbing sections (45º), overcoming crevasses in the direction of the ice mushroom and rimaya somital. We climb 70 meters in two pitches (70º) setting up an intermediate meeting. We overcome this key section and reach the summit slopes that lead directly to the summit. The summit has an impressive panoramic view, we can appreciate the Cordillera Blanca, the most emblematic mountains of Peru: Palcaraju, Ranrapalca, Ishinca, Urus, Akillpo, Copa, Huantsán, Ocshapalca, Vallunaraju.
